Cio Bikes

Cio at NAHBS 2017

Hopefully you came to see us at NAHBS 2017! For those who missed out, here's our run-down.

It was Cio's first showing in the USA. We see NAHBS as the premier forum for displaying and discussing handmade and custom bikes in the US, so it was amazing that we had the opportunity to attend.

We took a 'New Builder' table - a section of the show that traditionally gets a lot of attention and is known for showcasing some of the best new talent in the industry. Over the 3 days, we had end-to-end conversations and got some great feedback from a huge number of cycling fans, fellow builders and bike industry heavyweights.

A few good editorials on the show have caught our eye over the last few days - check out our features in NAHBS review and Bikebiz 'International' handmade bicycle show story. GearJunkie wrote:

A beautiful white ash and carbon layup did not take home top honors. But we thought it was striking enough to include. You won’t find this on many U.S. roads, however; Cio Cycles hails from Brisbane, Australia.

Nick caught up with Nick from The American Bike podcast - keep an eye out for that interview, and also look out for the NAHBS wrap-up in Outside Magazine in their next issue.

The array of lovingly prepared bikes and components was pretty spectacular. Here are a few images of Cio bikes at the show, as well as a snapshot of the bikes that caught our attention. Scroll down!

Cio Pass was featured on the second day in the Campagnolo USA booth, drawing lots of attention;

Calfee lugged carbon

Argonaut pre-preg carbon laminate on display

Metier 3D printed, titanium lugged / carbon

Renovo Aerowood - spectacular all-wood road frame

No 22 cycles.. they had a great looking booth and great looking bikes

David Kirk Cycles - Best in show fillet brazing.

Low bicycles - best in show track bike

This Conner Wood Bicycles fat bike was pretty special - some crazy laminated wood curves

We hope to be back next year - looking forward to seeing the 2018 creations.
