STUNNING PERFORMANCE

We've created a phenomenal ride
LEAD OUT HARD

LEAD OUT HARD

We fully understand that you need to stay with the lead group. So, since 2011, we’ve developed a whole new manufacturing process to create a timber frame that will match it with the best carbon thoroughbreds around.
1.8kg frame weight*

1.8kg frame weight*

With quality componentry as shown, this equates to a total weight of sub 7.5kg for a size 56 road bike
Aero tube profiles

Aero tube profiles

The frame surface is continuously profiled with 3:1 aero sections - there is no drag penalty
Internal cabling

Internal cabling

Hollow tubing lends its self to clean cable routing. Our proprietry cable stops allow only the cable inner to pass through the frame
Optimised stiffness

Optimised stiffness

Cio’s internal carbon laminate is designed to compliment the structural timber shell, providing high torsional stiffness in the the down tube and chainstays for direct power transfer
44mm Head Tube

44mm Head Tube

A large diameter head tube accepts 1.5" tapered headsets, such as the Chris King Inset 7, as well as semi-integrated 1 1/8" headsets from Chris King, Cane Creek, Ritchey, FSA and others.
Compatible

Compatible

Our frames have been designed for compatibility with high performance groupsets from Campagnolo, Shimano and SRAM.

THE BEST MATERIALS NATURE HAS TO OFFER

TIMBER IS THE ORIGINAL RENEWABLE MATERIAL

TIMBER IS THE ORIGINAL RENEWABLE MATERIAL

We aim to use only FSC / PEFC certified suppliers ensuring responsible forestry practices at every step of the supply chain. Our timber is carbon positive - Each Cio bike is literally made out of CO2 from the atmosphere

We set out to prove that timber can be used in high performance applications in place of environmentally unfriendly materials like modern metals and plastics. We have created something that is more than just a sustainable alternative

CHOOSE FROM SELECT TIMBERS

A cio frame is an individual; uniqueness is guaranteed.
Each bike comprises timber from only one tree to ensure colour and book-matched grain. We apply a scientific approach to selecting only the highest performing timbers, and hand pick the raw materials for every bike.

A UNIQUE TIMBER / CARBON FIBRE COMPOSITE

A UNIQUE TIMBER / CARBON FIBRE COMPOSITE

The best of both worlds. Our unique construction methodology has been designed to extract the complementary structural benefits from both timber and carbon fibre. The monocoque wall thickness is around 3.6mm typically, including the 0.6mm carbon skin that lines the internal surface. The timber and carbon layers each contribute to the structure of the frame.

The result: the stiffness and responsive feel you have come to expect but with a solid, smooth ride that is entirely new

TESTIMONIALS

“First impressions, beautiful ride plus much respect for performance. In terms of ride, comfort level is superb, good travel through rear and front over rough stuff, not too twitchy but with good front direction. Not as tight as they can be but i think you won't get comfort if any tighter. In terms of straight line speed 8+\10. Winds up well, maintains speed and wants to accelerate. Climbing is impressive. It beats most pure carbon bikes hands down. Great head tube. Great downward momentum from pedals to drive train. Overall, solid all rounder. As it does all things really well. May come up short in a criterium bunch sprint but would give most a run for money in race conditions. For weekend warriors it's perfect 10/10, commuting 10/10, B-C grade racing 9/10.
